William Smith was born some time after 1761 in Suffolk County, New York. He served in the Continental Army from New York. At the conclusion of the Revolutionary War, he moved his wife to North Carolina, which is where all their children were born. Today, his descendants number in the many thousands, many of which are on this website.
I am John Smith, a direct male descendant of William, and documenting all these descendants is a live-long project for me.
